You’re receiving the email because you registered your account as an individual or a sole proprietor. Prior to eBay managing your payments, your account was set up as a nonprofit seller on eBay.

If you are not an authorized seller for a nonprofit and sell on eBay as an individual or sole proprietor, you don’t need to take any action. You will pay the regular Final Value Fee as detailed on this page. Any prior nonprofit affiliations will be removed from your account.

If you’re an authorized seller for a nonprofit, registered as 501c3 with Internal Revenue Service (IRS), you will need to update your account to a nonprofit seller account by following these steps:

• Go to Account settings > Personal Info > Personal/ Business Info
  • If you’re registered as an Individual, click ‘Edit’ Account type and update to Business account by clicking Confirm
  • If you’re registered as a Sole proprietor, click ‘Edit’ Business type
• Select ‘Yes, my business is a legal entity’ and select the ‘Nonprofit’ option
• Follow the onscreen instructions to submit the required information
• Select the nonprofit for which you’re an authorized seller
• Complete and submit the required fields

Keep the following information handy in order to update your account.

Nonprofit Information:

• Registered nonprofit name (should be same as the proof of nonprofit registration, no abbreviations), EIN, registered address, phone number, email, and website
• Nonprofit mission statement, logo, donor and volunteer base, cause area
• Proof of nonprofit registration such as Articles of Incorporation, IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter

Identity Information:

• Primary contact for the seller account (name, personal address, date of birth, last 4 digits of SSN). This information is for verification purposes only. Learn more about how eBay protects your personal information in our Security Center.
• Letter of authorization for the primary contact signed by the principal officer, printed on nonprofit letterhead. A sample letter of authorization can be downloaded from the onboarding flow.
• Principal officer (same as entered in Form 990, Item F in the header) information such as name, address, date of birth, last 4 digits of SSN.

Bank Information:

• Bank account registered to the nonprofit (online banking access if available)
